About CNED

The Council of Northern Economic Developers (CNED) is a northern-Canadian association dedicated to professional development and economic development education.  It is affiliated with the national organization, the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC).

Founded in 2011, we are a group of active volunteers committed to our professions and our territory. 2011-10-28 CNED Society Certificate

Fee structure and member benefits were determined after conducting a survey of approximately 100 people who were on the CNED newsletter list. Respondents indicated that they wanted their organization to organize courses and conferences, provide opportunities for networking and opportunities to share information.

CNED has undertaken several initiatives to promote and encourage the growth of economic development professionals and practitioners in Yukon including Year 1 and Year 2 EDAC 5-day courses leading to  a certificate, diploma, and/or professional designation in economic development, networking lunches, and support to attend national EDAC conferences. See Previous Posts for details.

CNED members and other people interested in Yukon economic development activities are connected through this website, newsletters, through the Yukon Economic Development Forum on LinkedIn and through regular networking lunches and regular CNED meetings.

We would encourage you to show your support for developing a strong cadre of Yukon economic development practitioners by becoming a  member of CNED . If you are interested in becoming involved with CNED, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
